Vanessa Molter is a Senior Threat Analyst at Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) where she tracks and disrupts threat actors involved in Information Operations (IO). With a focus on identifying and countering online manipulation, Vanessa has extensive experience in investigating and analyzing the tactics and techniques used by malicious actors to spread disinformation and influence public opinion.
Prior to joining Google, Vanessa honed her expertise in combating online mis- and disinformation at Graphika and the Stanford Internet Observatory. Her research has focused on Chinese propaganda and disinformation campaigns, and her work has been featured in prominent publications like the Washington Post.
Vanessa holds a Master's degree in International Policy from Stanford University, where she specialized in data science and cybersecurity. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business and East Asian Studies from Tübingen University in Germany. Her academic background, coupled with her practical experience in threat analysis, makes her a leading expert in the field of online information warfare.
